This dish was a step up from your regular ol’ spaghetti or Alfredo from a jar pasta dish. But it’s totally a good week day meal. The sauce is creamy and extra delicious! I didn’t add any chicken to mine, but I am sure it would be great with it too! Not only is this bacon carbonara super delicious, it is really easy to make! You just cook the spaghetti the same as you usually would and add a couple of other ingredients to make it unique! The flavors are absolutely amazing together and everyone in the family is always going back for seconds or thirds. Learn how to make this recipe with only a few steps and serve it at your next family dinner!

This dish was a step up from your regular ol' spagetti or alfredo from a jar pasta dish. But it totally a good week day meal. The sauce is creamy and extra delicious! I didn't add any chicken to mine, but I am sure it would be great with it too!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 mushrooms sliced
  • 1/2 pound pasta
  • sauce ingredients:
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 2/3 cup parmesan (plus extra to sprinkle on top!)
  • 1 teaspoon died parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper flakes (be very careful with this one! I added too much my first time and it was almost unedible! If serving kids I would only do a little sprinkle of it in there)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta as directed on back of box. Combine sauce in a bowl and whisk until combined.
  2. Fry the bacon, crumble and set aside. Leave a little bacon grease left in the pan. Saute the onions and mushrooms until onions are golden brown.
  3. Drain pasta and add to the mushrooms and onions. Poor in sauce ingredients and cook on LOW for 1-2 minutes. Continue to stir.
  4. If cooked too long the eggs with begin to scramble.
  5. Top with parmesan cheese and bacon crumbles. Enjoy!

  1. Continue to stir. If cooked too long the eggs with begin to scramble. Where did the eggs come from? Is this a typo or is there a missing ingredient?
