Why cook the pasta al dente?

Cooking the pasta al dente will ensure that your noodles don’t get soggy! Having some structure to your noodles will help the texture after it comes out of the oven!

Should I use sausage or ground beef?

This is totally up to you! I love it both ways – it is purely based on preference!

How should I store baked ziti?

  1. If you’re freezing this recipe prior to baking, cover with tin foil and write the baking instructions on top. It can freeze for up to 6 months!
  2. Once baked, it will store in the fridge for 2-3 days

I’m bringing this to a family member, should I bake it first?

If the family you’re bringing this to is planning on eating right away, I would bake it at home before transporting! If it might be awhile or if it is a surprise meal, I would let them bake it since it doesn’t take too long in the oven!

Ready to get started? Happy layering!!
