Ingredients

  • 1 lb Steak (cut into strips)
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp crushed ginger
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • oil for frying
  • green onions sliced diagonally

Instructions

  1. Grab a bowl and put in the steak strips. Then sprinkle the cornstarch over them. Coat the steak on all sides with the cornstarch. Then let the steak sit while you make the sauce so that the juices from the steak get soaked up from the cornstarch.

In a skillet drizzle in the oil. Then add the ginger and minced garlic. Then sauté for a few minutes. Then add in the soy sauce and water. Add the brown sugar and then stir. Then bring it to a boil. Then remove from heat.

Then take another skillet and add in the oil for frying. Heat up the oil. Take the steak that is coated in the cornstarch and shake off the excess cornstarch and begin to fry the steak piece by piece. Fry for about a minute until the steak is just barely done and then remove and place on a paper towel to drain off the extra oil. Then repeat until the steak is all fried.

Dump the oil and wipe out with a paper towel then place all the steak back in the pan. Then add the sliced onions and the sauce. Cook for 2 minutes until everything is coated and then serve!
