General Conference Farmer’s Market: Fun Family Activity + Free Printables

How to Create a General Conference Farmer’s Market for Your Family

If you’re looking for a fun way to make General Conference weekend a little more memorable for your family, try creating your own General Conference Farmer’s Market! 🧺🤍

We turned our General Conference weekend into a little market filled with sweet treats, activities, printables, and things the kids could enjoy while listening to conference.

It was such a fun way to get everyone excited about conference while creating something together as a family.

What Is a General Conference Farmer’s Market?

Think of it like a tiny farmers market—but everything is centered around General Conference!

Each child can make or choose something to contribute. You can keep it super simple or go all out.

Some ideas include:

  • Homemade cookies

  • Cinnamon rolls

  • Cookie dough

  • Brownies or other treats

  • General Conference coloring pages

  • Bookmarks

  • Scripture cards

  • Activity pages

  • Small crafts

  • Conference journals

  • Treat bags

  • Little “market” signs

You could even give each child their own little table or basket and let them create their own “booth.”

Make It Extra Special With Printables

I created some simple General Conference printables that you can print at home and use throughout your market.

General Conference Coloring Pages

These are perfect for younger kids who want something to do while listening to conference.

Print them on regular printer paper for coloring with crayons or markers, or use watercolor paper if you want the kids to paint them.

I chose to put them with watercolors! Here are the ones I got.

General Conference Bookmarks

Bookmarks are another easy addition to your market.

Print them, let the kids color or decorate them, and then laminate them if you want to keep them for future conference weekends.

Sweet Treats for Sweet Messages

One of my favorite parts of our market was the food!

We made little treats that could be packaged up and shared while we listened to conference.

My daughter even made cookie dough and used the saying:

“Sweet Treats for Sweet Messages.”

I put the cinnamon rolls in these boxes!

Cinnamon rolls are basically made for General Conference morning!

You can make them the night before so breakfast is ready to go when everyone wakes up.

What You’ll Need

You definitely don’t need everything on this list. Use what you already have and add a few fun extras if you want to make your market feel special.

My Amazon Picks

Kraft Paper Bags – Great for letting kids package their market items.

Cardstock – I recommend white cardstock for the bookmarks, tags, and signs.

Watercolor Paper – Perfect for the General Conference coloring pages if your kids want to paint them.

Watercolor Paints – A fun activity to have available during conference.

Colored Pencils & Markers – Great for kids who want to decorate their bookmarks and coloring pages.

Mini Clothespins + Twine – Use these to hang signs or create a cute little market display.

How to Set Up Your Farmer’s Market

You can make this as simple or elaborate as you want.

1. Pick a Table or Area

Choose a table, kitchen island, or even a few small tables around the room.

Add baskets, trays, and signs to make it feel like a little market.

2. Let the Kids Choose Their “Booth”

This is where the kids can get creative.

One child might make cookies, another might make cinnamon rolls, and another might set up the coloring pages or bookmarks.

They can make signs for their booth and help package everything.

3. Add the Printable Tags

This is what makes everything feel coordinated!

Attach the tags to your cookies, cinnamon rolls, or other treats with ribbon, twine, or a small piece of tape.

4. Start Conference

Once everything is set up, grab your treats, coloring pages, scriptures, and notebooks and settle in for General Conference.

The goal isn’t to keep kids entertained every second.

It’s simply to create a fun environment where they can participate, listen, create, and feel excited about conference.

A Few More General Conference Market Ideas

Want to make your market even bigger?

Try adding:

“Messages to Remember” Cards

Give each child a little card where they can write down their favorite message from conference.

Conference Snack Mix

Make a simple snack mix and package it in little bags.

Add a tag that says:

“A Little Something to Snack On While You Listen.”

Scripture Cards

Print favorite scriptures and place them around the market for kids to read.

Conference Journals

Give each child a small notebook where they can write:

  • Something I learned

  • Someone I want to be more like

  • Something I felt

  • A goal I want to work on

  • My favorite quote

Make It a Family Tradition

I love activities like this because they don’t have to be complicated.

The kids can help bake, decorate, color, package treats, and set up the market—and then everyone gets to enjoy it together.

You could even make your General Conference Farmer’s Market a tradition that comes back every April and October.

Change up the treats.

Create new printables.

Let the kids come up with their own booth ideas.

And most importantly, enjoy being together while you listen for those messages of hope, faith, and Jesus Christ.
