Blueberry Pie Recipe with Cream

This blueberry pie has been a hit recently in our home! Everyone who has tried this recipe says it’s the best pie they have ever had. Try it out and see if that’s true!

I brought this blueberry pie recipe to a friend who had just had a baby and she said it was one of the best pies she has ever had! Since I am not the biggest pie fan and have only made a few pies myself, I am not the best pie judge. But it was easy to make and was super delicious! Try this pie out and let me know what you think about it.

The Best Blueberry Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • ----Cream Filling:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (I have also tried raspberries and they are delicious!)
  • ---Crumb Topping:
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup flour

Instructions

  1. Start with the cream filling. In a bowl or mixer, mix together the sugar and flour.
  2. Add in the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Place the blueberries in the pie crust and then pour the filling over the blueberries evenly.
  4. Now make the crumb topping. Mix together the sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  5. Pour the melted butter into the bowl and mix together well.
  6. Then add the flour in gradually while stirring to create the crumb topping.
  7. Place the crumble over the pie evenly.
  8. Bake the pie at 375 degrees for 55 minutes. (even pie crust edges get too brown cover with tin foil)
  9. Serve with ice cream and enjoy! (This pie is a mix between a pie and a cobbler)

(I didn’t have much time before dinner so I opted for the store bought frozen pie crust. And it worked just fine!)

My youngest son is OBSESSED with food! Anytime something yummy is baking in the oven he stands there and watches it bake making his lip smacking and ooooo ahhh sounds!

  1. How much sugar is supposed to be in the cream filling? I just made it with no sugar, and I liked it plain…but my hubby says it needs the sugar!

  2. Looks delicious, what size pie dish and crust do you use? Do you have to bake the crust at all before adding the filling?

  3. How do you think it would turn out if I used a graham cracker crust instead of a traditional crust?
