My Famous Chicken Tacos with a Secret Sauce

Most chicken tacos that I eat are shredded chicken tacos. These tacos are breaded and baked to perfection. Topped with a secret sauce that takes tacos to a whole new level!

My oldest son Crew is my ultimate taste tester. He gives me honest and straight forward critic. Sometimes after I spend time and money making a meal it is not what I want to hear…of course that is only when he lets me know that “he’s had better” or “thats not my favorite” and I am not going to lie. Sometimes when I get those critics I tend to walk away and take a few deep breathes before I respond. But in my “line of work” as a food blogger those critics are needed. They are needed before I share so sometimes I take the brunt of the bad news.

I had been wanting to make a version of tacos like this for a while. They are a little more of a labor of love then shredded chicken tacos! But they are worth it. Every. Single. Bite.
I have seen some similar recipes that toss their chicken in the sauce. But the way I made the sauce made it rich and complex. A little goes a long way!!! Which is how I like it! That way you can still taste the other ingredients and the chicken and sauce doesn’t over power the recipe. I am excited to share this with you all!

My Famous Chicken Tacos with a Secret Sauce

4 chicken breasts
1 cup flour
2 eggs
2 Tablespoons water
2 cups Panko bread crumbs
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Then take the chicken and cut into 1 inch cubes. Then grab a brown paper sack (or ziplock) and toss the chicken in there. Then sprinkle with 1 cup flour. Give the chicken and flour a good shake until it is fully coated.
In a bowl add the eggs and water and whisk. In a separate bowl add the Panko.
Grab a cookie sheet and line with parchment paper. Then grab some tongs and grab a piece of the floured chicken and then dip in the eggs, and then in the panic. Make sure it is fully coated in all the ingredients. Then place the chicken on the cookie sheet. Line the chicken on the cookie sheet not touching. Complete the chicken until it is all used. Then top with salt and pepper.
Place in the oven for 23-26 minutes. Or until the chicken is cooked until golden brown. And the chicken no longer sticks and it is all the way cooked.
