Making banana sushi is a fun and creative snack that’s perfect for kids. It’s a simple, no cook snack recipe that you can use various toppings to create fun snacks that everyone will love.
My little girls love sushi and when they walked in to school and found that their after school snack was fruit sushi they were so excited!
There are so many different ways to make banana sushi but this is my girls favorite way!
Banana Sushi
Serves: 4 full rolls
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
4 Banana
4 Tortilla Shells
1/3 cup Peanut Butter
1/3 cup Nutella
Strawberries, cut into small pieces
Raspberry, smashed
Cereal, your favorite
Mini Chocolate Chips
Shredded Coconut
Directions
- Lay out all your ingredients and toppings to create your banana sushi rolls. 2. Grab a tortilla shell, spread your choice of peanut butter or Nutella over the shell. 3. Add a ripped banana on one side of the tortilla shell and tightly roll up. 4. If you want to add any toppings, spread a thin layer of peanut butter or Nutella on the top and add your favorite toppings.
- With a sharp knife, cut into ½” to 1” slices.
- Place sushi rolls on a plate and serve.
Tips or FAQ’s
Toppings- There are so many choices you can add on a platter to create different flavor combinations and even let the kids have fun with it.
-chopped nuts
– cereal
-shredded coconut
– diced fruit
– sprinkles
-mini chocolate chips
– chia seeds
Not a fan of Peanut Butter or Nutella- You can use almond butter or any nut butter you prefer, you could even use honey as well.
To prevent the banana slices from browning, you can brush them with a little lemon juice or a mixture of lemon juice and water.
If your sushi rolls aren’t staying closed, you can use a toothpick to hold them together. Just remember to remove it before eating.
Banana Sushi needs to be served immediately, since bananas will soften as it sits.
