Oven Baked Chicken Tacos

I’ve made tacos just about every way you can think of, but these oven baked chicken tacos are by far my favorite! I am so excited to share this recipe with you! Make sure you try the salsa with it because in my opinion, it really elevates the entire meal.

How to make Oven Baked Chicken Tacos

  1. Grab a crockpot and place the chicken breasts and salsa. Cook on low for 6 hours. Then shred chicken.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  3. Then grab a 9×13 pan and arrange taco shells standing up and then stuff with the salsa chicken mixture. Then top with cheese and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and top with sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and avocado! Then serve.

Crunchy and DELICIOUS oven baked chicken tacos! I even included my secret salsa recipe that is a MUST TRY! Add this Mexican dish to your dinner menu!

Total Time 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 packet hard taco shells
  • 1 cup fiesta cheese blend, shredded
  • sour cream, optional
  • lettuce, optional
  • tomatoes, optional
  • avocado, optional
  • cilantro, optional

Instructions

  4. Remove from oven and top with sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, cilantro or whatever toppings you like! Then serve.

    These are so delicious! But, how do you get the taco shells to not stick to the pan and become soggy from the juice from the chicken?

    1. I wondered the same thing! I had a mess on my hands last night! It tasted good but the bottom of every shell was soggy and ripped apart.
