Flower Crown: Fancy Free Finery

My baby turned 1 at the beginning of February! A few weeks before her party I was going back and forth with what I wanted to do for her. I was leaning more towards a small family party when my 8 year old called me out about how all 3 of my other children had a petting zoo for their 1st birthday and Demi had to have one too! So I figured I would go along with the tradition and make it an even 4 out of 4 for 1st birthday party petting zoos!

The planning began…right away I wanted to do a unicorn party along with the petting zoo. So the party chaos planning was in full force! Since it is more of a party that we invited the entire family to I knew I needed to plan a full dinner along with it. And luckily my mom has a tradition to throw the 1st birthday party! So she headed the dinner along with the petting zoo and the magical unicorn rides! I found the unicorn horn on Etsy here! It was great quality and very easy to use! You can special order different sizes depending on the size of the horse.

So lets start with the kick off to the party, the Invitation! I looked on Etsy for hours and found my absolute favorite of them all. It was the perfect mix of whimsical and fabulous! Which is exactly what I was aiming for! So I headed to Wise Monkey Papery from France and chose this Rainbow Unicorn Pastel Invitation.  She has a lot of amazing items in her shop so make sure to check them out for every occasion! She has some amazing wedding items and other things like menus and thank you cards and other invitations. Of course I was obsessed with her mermaid invite as well. 

Party Invitations

After the invitation I searched Pinterest and Etsy to see all the printables that were options for the party. They had to have the right style, color, and design. After lots of searching I went with Amanda’s Parties To Go! She has lots of amazing options for parties! Girls, boys, babies, holidays… she has it all! She has a super fast turn around and has great prices.  Her Unicorn Party Package is also on sale right now!

Finding the right printable person is one of my favorite, most important parts of the party. It sets the tone of the entire party, makes everything flow, and takes everything up to the next level! Amanda has created just that! The theme is whimsical and fabulous plus her mix of floral, gold, and pastels just made them the perfect printable for the party! 

Unicorn Party Decor

I always like to add more dimensions to the party. So that the party doesn’t look like any other party out there. I like to add more banners and prints from other Etsy shops. So I headed to Hooray Party Co. and had her do Demi’s name is gold glitter to add to the backdrop! Along with doing a banner for the table. I also used her party favor box as part of the decor to hold things and wish I would have ordered more to give them to each guest because they were the cutest little things! I also had this cake topper that ended up also being part of the decor because of the style of cake I decided to go with! 

This was the first time that I also had larger prints through out the party! The unicorn prints out there are the cutest little things ever! I could not, not add them into the party! Right when you walked in there was this Unicorn Party Print! Nice Party is located in Spain and her shop is as whimsical and playful as they come! I found the print and then saw that she also had some party printables. Also, I ended up only being able to incorporate a few of her items, but they added the perfect touch of a more playful theme. I wanted to add them to the mini water bottles because of the patterns. And I loved how they turned out! 

Other Add-ons

Since I loved this saying so much, I had to add this print to the party! Aenanon Art Work has great prints for the entire house! They are located in Greece and I was so impressed with the customer service and how fast to respond they were! The prices are amazing! Especially since a lot of their shop is 50% off which makes a lot of the prints Under $3! 

And since it was my babies 1st birthday I knew I had to incorporate some Sweet Melody Designs! She has the sweetest most precious items in her shop! I loved this girl on the unicorn print but decided to go with her little unicorn print! It was perfect for a 1st birthday party!  I also wanted the guests to enjoy her prints so I added them into their goodie bag to take home as a party favor!

She designed them to be different colors and I had them printed on card stock so that everyone could enjoy them! My 4 year old has her party favor still hung up in her room with her photos and it makes me smile every time I see it and it reminds me how much fun we had at the party! I can’t wait until I re-decorate my next room so that I can incorporate some of her prints that she has in her shop! Her woodland theme is a favorite of mine!

Party Parcels is a newer shop that I am so glad I found! They only have a few options in their shop currently like a garden party, sugar and spice baby shower, baby boy shower, calico zoo party, along with the unicorn party that I got! 

 

 

 

 

Unicorn Balloons

On the ceiling I did a variety of things! Instead of hanging garlands on the table and windows like I normally do I hung them from the ceiling. I got some from Michaels in the unicorn party sections and then I got this hot air balloon garland and this heart garland, and then I hung down balloons that I ordered off of Etsy (marble and cloud), and these tissue pom moms , and these honeycomb balls, I also used some tassel garlands from Republic of Party.
