Chocolate Bundt Cake

There is only 1 chocolate bundt cake recipe our family makes. This is it and it’s absolutely delicious! 

My mom lets us pick our favorites for dinner and this chocolate bundt cake makes an appearance regularly. It is a family favorite. We are a family of foodies and if this one is our favorite there must be a great reason!

It is the perfect texture inside and is great right out of the oven and the next day! You won’t believe how yummy this cake is until you try it. I used to think cakes were a lot of work to make, but this one is surprisingly easy and doesn’y need a ton of ingredients. Check it out!

Chocolate Bundt Cake Recipe

Chocolate Bundt Cake

Chocolate Bundt Cake
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 40 minutes
Total Time 50 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 t baking soda
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup granulate sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 t vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combined cocoa, sugar, salt and flour. Then add the oil, buttermilk and eggs. Mix well and then add the water. 
  2. Put in a greased and floured bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Remove cake from pan while warm and not hot.
  3. Boil all ingredients except vanilla in a saucepan for 1 to 2 minutes. Then remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir until cool or thick enough to stick on caked. Then put on quickly or it will get too thick.
