Sausage, Cheddar, and Green Onion Waffles

Servings: 4-5 waffles
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cup water
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 1/2 cups ground sausage, cooked
3 green onions, finely chopped
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions:
- Preheat Belgian waffle maker.
- In a medium sized bowl mix together water, eggs, and oil.
- Add in Belgian waffle mix and mix together.
- Stir in ground sausage and green onions.
- Fold in cheddar cheese.
- In a medium bowl stir together water, egg, and oil.
- Butter the waffle maker on both sides. Pour batter by 1/2 cup into waffle maker and cook per manufactures directions. Be sure to butter the waffle maker before cooking each waffle.
- Top with warmed maple syrup or maple-mustard sauce.
Maple-Mustard Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup brown mustard
Instructions:
- In a saucepan over medium heat place in butter and let melt about half way.
- Add the maple syrup and brown mustard.
- Stir until all the ingredients are combined and the butter is melted all the way.
- Remove from heat and pour over waffles.
