Lettuce Wraps have always been a favorite of mine at Asian restaurants. I love how easy they are to share with everyone at the table and nobody is ever disappointed by this appetizer. Because they are low in carbs, these wraps are the perfect healthy meal choice. I never seem to get enough of this delicious snack and end up making several batches! They are so simple to make at home and are perfect when you need a lighter meal option! Why do take out when you can make copycat PF Chang’s lettuce wraps right from your house?

Any Asian cuisine restaurant you go to will have lettuce wraps listed on their appetizer menu. They can be served  with either the choice of beef or chicken and of course will include veggies inside! Lettuce wraps are the perfect diet food and excellent to make as a quick snack during the day. They may look difficult to prepare, but you will be pleasantly surprised to see that they are one of the easiest meals to whip up. In less then 20 minutes you will have a gourmet looking dish ready to devour!

Steps for the perfect lettuce wraps at home

  1. In a skillet begin cooking the ground chicken. Once it is cooked add in the diced mushrooms and diced water chestnuts. Then add in the minced garlic, grated ginger and red pepper flakes. Stir until the mushrooms are cooked! Mix together and then add 1/2 of the green onions.
  2. In a bowl mix together the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Whisk together. Then add 1/2 of the sauce over the ground chicken mixture. Stir then remove from heat.
  3. Save the remaining sauce and green onions as toppings!
  4. Grab the lettuce and spoon the filling into the individual leaves and top with remaining sauce and green onions! You can add more red pepper flakes if you like them spicy! Then eat!
