Loaded Bacon Green Beans Recipe
Is there anything better than bacon green beans?! Let’s change up the way we do green beans this holiday season. Who is with me? That is why I crafted up this Loaded Green Beans recipe! It is essentially just green beans with shallots, apple cider, and bacon! Yes, I said BACON! This is how I made it.
Side dishes are my all time favorite! So much so that I have a whole category of my site dedicated to sides!
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts water
- 1 ½ t salt
- 1 ¼ lbs fresh green beans
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 T parsley, fresh
- 4 shallots, chopped
- Pepper
- 2 T minced garlic
- ½ cup apple cider
How to Make Loaded Bacon Green Beans
In a pot add water and salt. Bring to a boil and then add the green beans. Cook for 8 minutes or until tender
In a large skillet cook up the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and keep about 2 Tablespoons of bacon grease still in the pan and then add the shallots and garlic. Cook for about 2 minutes. Then add the apple cider and chicken broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook for about 2 minutes and then add the green beans and cook for a few more minutes. Then sprinkle the crumbled bacon, parsley, and salt and pepper on top then serve.
