These French Dip sandwiches are a regular in our meal rotation.  The reason is that I can throw together these delicious sandwiches quicker than I can make a box of mac & cheese and they are healthier for my kids.

French Dip Sandwiches

There aren't very many recipes that we have each month but this french dip is one of them!

The reason is that I can feed my family french dips faster than I can make a box of mac n cheese for them! They are super simple ingredients and the only thing that I usually need to grab is a loaf of french bread! Everything else we keep on hand!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • butter
  • 1 lb roast beef sliced
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese sliced
  • 1 pack au jus sauce

optional

  • garlic salt
  • mayo

Instructions

  1. Take the loaf of french bread and cut in half long ways. Place on a cookie sheet. Then spread the inside with butter. Then you can add garlic salt and mayo right here if you would like. If you do Pop it in the oven under broil for a few minutes or until the mayo begins to bubble.
  2. Then in a saucepan over medium heat make the au jus mix. According to the directions on the back of the packet. Then take the roast beef and dip it in the au jus sauce. Let sit in the sauce for about 30 seconds then remove and shake off access liquid. Then lay evenly on the loaf of bread on both sides. Then top with provolone cheese.
  3. Then put the bread in the oven under broil for about 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and melted. Then remove from oven and take both sides of the bread and create the sandwich.
  4. Serve with a bowl of au jus dipping sauce!
