The perfect side dish for your next BBQ is this baked beans recipe! It is my absolute favorite thing to bring and is always a fan favorite.

 
Don’t get me wrong, plain baked beans are delicious but if you have some extra time and want to take them to the next level you need to try out this homemade recipe. Everyone who tries these never looks back and I always get asked how to make them. I can honestly eat a whole plate of these baked beans and I do sometimes instead of eating a hamburger or steak. They are that good I promise!

How to Make Homemade Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 large can of pork and beans (up to 52 ounces if you are feeding a crowd)
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained (15 ounces)
  • 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and diced
  • 1 can butter beans, drained (15 ounces)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 lb hamburger or smoked sausage (13 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar

Instructions

  1. First, brown your hamburger or smoked sausage.
  2. Next, add the onions and drain.
  3. Place everything in a greased casserole dish (9×13).
  4. Finally, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

  3. What would it take to do this in the instant pot instead of baking in the oven.

    1. I personally have never made them in the instant pot or a crockpot or anything so I am not sure how they would turn out. Im so sorry
