Chicken Noodle Soup + Shirley J Biscuits

I love making soups but unfortunately the look on my husbands face when he comes home from work and sees soup on the table doesn’t correspond to my love for soups. So from February to October soups are not put into the weekly menu. But right when fall hits the soup recipe brainstorming begins! And that is when I start making soups once a week. I still get the same look on my husbands face every time and that is why I have starting making some type of homemade bread that day too! I have LOVED making breads recently! And when ShirleyJ sent me a fun package with some of their products they including there chicken bouillon and their biscuit mix and i knew right then that chicken noodle soup and biscuits had to be made! These biscuits were so easy and they were just as good as homemade ones! I was shocked! You all need to seriously try them! I can’t wait to use them with my favorite biscuits and gravy! And this chicken noodle soup was so easy and delicious that it made for a easy meal that we all enjoyed!

Chicken Noodle Soup + Shirley J Biscuits

Chicken Noodle Soup + Shirley J Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 large chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons ShirleyJ chicken bouillon
  • 2 packages egg noodles
  • 2 carrots,sliced
  • 2 celery stalks,sliced
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 quart heavy whipping cream
  • 1 quart half and half
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

    1. In a large pot boil chicken in water with the chicken bouillon. When chicken is cooked take out of the broth and let cool. Once cooled shred chicken.
    2. In the broth add the noodles, carrots, celery, onion, and potatoes. Simmer for a hour.
    3. Add chicken and continue to simmer then add the cream ad half and half. Mix it all together and it will begin to thicken.
    4. Add the salt and pepper. Taste and add more pepper or salt according to your liking.
    5. Pair with Shirley J Biscuits
