Homemade Orange Creamsicle Cookies with Sweet Orange Glaze

Soft, bakery-style orange creamsicle cookies made with fresh orange zest, white chocolate chips, and a sweet orange glaze. An easy homemade cookie recipe everyone will love.

Orange Creamsicle Cookies

If you grew up loving orange creamsicles, this cookie is going to take you straight back to summer afternoons and sticky fingers. These Orange Creamsicle Cookies were created for Sodalicious, inspired by that classic orange-and-cream flavor combo we all know and love—bright citrus, creamy sweetness, and soft bakery-style cookies that melt in your mouth.

They’re soft, lightly chewy, packed with fresh orange zest, and finished with a simple orange glaze that makes them feel extra special. These are the kind of cookies that disappear fast, whether you’re serving them at a party, dropping them off for a friend, or sneaking one with your afternoon drink run.

Why You’ll Love These Cookies

  • Fresh orange zest gives real citrus flavor (no extracts needed)

  • White chocolate chips add creamy sweetness

  • Soft centers with lightly golden edges

  • That glaze… trust me, don’t skip it 🍊✨

Orange Creamsicle Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons orange zest

  • 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tablespoons orange juice

  • Zest of ½ an orange

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

  6. Gently stir in the orange zest and white chocolate chips.

  7. Scoop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

👉 Do not flatten the dough—this helps keep the cookies soft and prevents them from drying out.

  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are just set.

  9. Allow cookies to cool completely before glazing.

Make the Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice (start with 1 tablespoon and add more as needed), orange zest, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle or spoon glaze over cooled cookies and let set.

Tips for the Best Orange Creamsicle Cookies

  • Fresh orange zest is key—use a microplane for the best flavor

  • Don’t overbake; the cookies should look slightly underdone in the center

  • These store well in an airtight container for 2–3 days (if they last that long!)

These Orange Creamsicle Cookies are sunshine in cookie form and one of my favorite recipes I’ve created for Sodalicious. If you make them, I’d love to hear what you think—or better yet, tag me so I can see your batch!

Happy baking 🍊🍪
