Who doesn’t love snickerdoodle cookies? This recipe makes the perfect cookie to pair with milk and are a must try!

I know there are a million snickerdoodle cookies recipes out there. This one has been my favorite ever since I was a little girl and now my family is obsessed. I have tried and tried recipes off of Pinterest, blogs, and websites and I tend to always go back to this recipe! I think they are absolutely delicious! The perfect texture and mix of crunch and soft in the middle. My favorite thing to do is have them with a side of milk and dip them with each bit. Snickerdoodle cookies were always my go to when it came to picking out cookies and they still are! If they aren’t your favorite, this recipe might just change your mind.

Cookies can be hard sometimes to make from scratch but I promise if you follow these few steps they will turn out perfect every time! They only take 8 minutes in the oven and then you can bring them to your next get together, party, or just make them for dessert and impress your family. How to Make Snickerdoodle Cookies

Snickerdoodle Cookies Recipe
Who doesn't love snickerdoodle cookies? This recipe makes the perfect cookie to pair with milk and are a must try!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
Total Time 18 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 5 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine shortening, sugar and eggs and mix.
  3. Add remaining ingredients (in the upper section) and mix until combined.
  4. Take the remaining sugar and cinnamon and put in a separate bowl.
  5. Shape a heaping Tablespoon of dough and form into a ball. Roll into the cinnamon sugar mix and place on a sprayed cookie sheet.
  6. Cook for 8 minutes or until shine is barely off of cookies. Do not overcook these! These are best when they are soft and chewy!
