Homemade Gravy with or without turkey stock

Gravy is a Thanksgiving must! Whether you have turkey stock or not finding the perfect recipe can be frustrating! This one is absolutely yummy and very simple!

As I am sure you all could guess, Thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite holidays! I get to cook all day long for friends and family and try out new recipes. I love having a traditional Thanksgiving each year with a huge turkey to serve. In my opinion, the gravy is the secret to an amazing turkey and mashed potatoes. This easy gravy is always a big hit and the best part about it is it only takes 10 minutes to make! Easy Gravy Recipe

Easy Gravy Recipe
Gravy is a Thanksgiving must! Whether you have turkey stock or not find the perfect recipe can be hard and frustrating! This one is absolutely yummy and very simple!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups turkey stock (or chicken stock if you don't have turkey stock)
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1 t italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 T butter
  • 1/4 cup wondra (or all purpose flour)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan add the turkey stock and bouillon cubes. Heat on medium low until the cubes are dissolved. Then add the other spices. 
  2. In a medium size saucepan add the butter and wondra (or flour) begin to make a rue over medium to high heat. The butter will begin to melt and the flour added to it will create a thick paste.
  3. Once it begins to come together slowly start to add in the stock mixture. While continuing to whisk together. Bring to a boil. Once it begins to thicken reduce the heat to low and cook for another 2 minutes or so. Then remove from the heat and serve.
