2022 Thanksgiving Menu- Everything I’ll Be Serving This Year!
One of my favorite days of the year is almost here! Ever since I was little, Thanksgiving has always been a special holiday in our family. We love any excuse to celebrate, but gathering together over a meal is a tradition I look forward to no matter what. There are a lot of things I do to make Thanksgiving special, but for a complete list click here.
When it comes to creating the current Thanksgiving menu, I like to include a combination of treasured favorites and newer treats. Before I even start, I sit down and look back at the previous year’s menu and see what needs to be served again. For a look at my 2021 Thanksgiving menu, read my round-up here.
Today on the blog, I’ll be chatting about all the dishes I plan on serving for upcoming Thanksgiving! Hopefully, one of these will inspire a new family-favorite you’ll love for years.
Appetizers
No good Thanksgiving dinner starts without a few delicious appetizers. While the majority of our appetite is saved for the main course, these few recipes are a tradition that my family must have for our 2022 Thanksgiving menu.
Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie boards have become so popular in recent years- and for good reason! This is the perfect appetizer to serve because it lets everyone graze throughout the day. No matter what your preferences are when it comes to cheese or meats, there is a wide selection of delicious options at any grocery store. My tip, make sure there is brie somewhere on your board!
Cheese Ball
No matter the holiday party, a cheese ball is a must-have! This recipe is so simple, yet such a delicious snack to munch on while prepping everything else for dinner.
Spinach And Artichoke Dip
Of all the spinach and artichoke dip recipes I’ve tried- this is by far the creamiest! No matter what holiday we’re celebrating, at least one of my family members requests it. And to make things even better, it is such a simple and easy dip to whip up.
Main Dish
For the best part of Thanksgiving- the main dish! While not everyone loves a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, I’ve mastered the perfect turkey dinner that turns out delicious every time.
Crockpot Turkey
Not only is this Crockpot turkey recipe super simple, it’s incredibly juicy. Even though I used to be apart of the large group that hated Thanksgiving turkey, this easy way to cook it has changed my mind completely.
Sides
We are a family that LOVES our side dishes! As the years go on, more and more recipes become staples for our 2022 Thanksgiving dinner. To have as many as possible, I like to make many of these ahead of time so the actual day is still relaxing.
Cornbread Stuffing
This is a Thanksgiving classic that my family cannot get enough of! It’s the perfect pairing to our Crockpot turkey and vegetables. Best of all, they’re super quick and easy!
Loaded Bacon Green Beans
I don’t know if there’s anything better than loaded bacon green beans! While we love traditional green beans, this fresh take provides a fun flair to Thanksgiving dinner, plus they require just a few ingredients.
Green Bean Casserole
I can’t imagine a Thanksgiving dinner without a huge platter of green bean casserole in the mix. While I’ve tried a few variations to this recipe over the years, I always go back to this classic. It never fails to be delicious!
Twice Baked Mashed Potatoes
No one loves traditional mashed potatoes more than me, but these twice baked mashed potatoes are too good not to serve on Thanksgiving. While they’re a little more time consuming, the end result is so delicious!
Sweet Potato Casserole
This easy sweet potato casserole is the perfect sprinkle of fall! It just tastes like the classic Thanksgiving flavor we all know and love. Some dishes I make for specific family members, but this side dish is a total crowd favorite!
Mom’s Knotted Rolls
Having my mom’s classic knotted rolls is one of the ways we make Thanksgiving special. They are the perfect combination of buttery flaky goodness that we cannot get enough of! No matter how full anyone is, they always have room for one more roll.
Dessert
No Thanksgiving dinner is complete without a spread of desserts! After everyone has time to digest from their huge dinner, bringing out dessert is the best way to keep the fun time going. I look back at some of my best conversations occurring over a slice of pie- these memories will last forever. Here are the must-haves for my 2022 Thanksgiving menu:
Pie Crust
Some years I love to make my own pie crust, but some years I just can’t find the time. When I want to make a pie completely from scratch, this is my favorite recipe for the flaky crust we all love. I’ll be honest, the store-bought pie crust is just as delicious and requires zero effort!
Blueberry Cream Pie
Although this blueberry pie is a more recent addition to our 2022 Thanksgiving menu, it’s a total hit! Everyone who’s tried this recipe says it’s the best pie they’ve ever tasted. The fresh berries and flaky crust are the perfect combo.
Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad
The salty pretzel crust with creamy whipped cream and strawberry Jello fruit is the perfect dessert! The combination of flavors is a great way to finish up your heavy Thanksgiving dinner- trust me you have room for this one.
Pumpkin Gingerbread Cake
This pumpkin gingerbread cake is a fresh take on the classic fall flavors every Thanksgiving dessert spread needs. I suggest serving it with ice cream on top! I promise, you won’t regret it.
2022 Thanksgiving Menu Items To Make Ahead
To have a menu as large as the one I’m planning, making meals ahead of time is essential. After too many years of making everything the morning of Thanksgiving, I started to plan out more dishes in the days prior.
Here is a list of the menu items I plan on making in advance:
- Cheese Ball
- Green Bean Casserole
- Sweet Potato Casserole
- Mom’s Knotted Rolls
- Blueberry Cream Pie
- Pumpkin Gingerbread Cake
I’m wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving! I hope all of you are surrounded by love and a delicious meal this holiday season. As always, one of the things I am most grateful for is the amazing community of food lovers that always want to try my recipes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
