What is this Casserole?

Never had a chicken and rice casserole? My family loves this recipe and it is super easy to make if you need a quick but yummy dinner idea! It is the perfect combination of chicken and rice with a yummy sauce on top and lot and lots of flavor. Chicken is a great protein that can be incorporated into tons of yummy meals. It is one of my favorite proteins to play around with when I come up with new recipes and this one was definitely a winner! Rice is a pantry staple everyone should always have on deck and it ties this dish together perfectly. Other than those 2 main ingredients, the rest are mainly there for lots of flavor and spice. This will only take a simple trip to the grocery store and that is all you will need. Try this recipe out the next time you need a yummy dinner idea and you will not be disappointed!

How to Make a Chicken and Rice Casserole

Chicken and Rice Casserole

Chicken and Rice Casserole
Prep Time 25 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice, cooked
  • 4 Chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 10 oz can cream of chicken
  • 10 oz can cream of mushroom
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • Parsley
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil rice and then put in pan.
  2. Brown chicken in butter and then add the cream of chicken, mushroom, milk, chopped onion, parsley, salt and pepper and simmer.
  3. Then place the chicken mixture on top of the rice.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rice, cooked
  • 4 Chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 10 oz can cream of chicken

  1. First you boil the rice and then lay it out on a large pan.

2. Brown the chicken in butter making sure to flip it evenly on both sides. Add some pepper to the top for flavor.

3. Next, add the cream of chicken, mushroom, milk, chopped onion, parsley, salt and pepper and simmer.

4. Place the chicken mixture on top of the rice.

5. Then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned on the top.

6. Serve and enjoy by placing it nicely on a plate as shown below with bread on the side!

 

For a Shorter Version:

Follow along with the pictures below in order! Boil rice and then put in pan. Brown chicken in butter and then add the cream of chicken, mushroom, milk, chopped onion, parsley, salt and pepper and simmer. Then place the chicken mixture on top of the rice. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
