Boston Cream Pie is a delicious cake that has a cream filling! Once it is all baked, it turns out light and fluffy making it perfect to enjoy with friends and family. Unlike other cakes, this pie is super soft with an amazing glaze finish over the top. This recipe is very simple and anyone will be able to make it! Try it out and let me know what you think!

How to Make Boston Cream Pie

Boston Cream Pie Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • ⅛ c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1½ c. milk
  • 2 eggs yolks
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Make a yellow cake using 4 eggs instead of 3.
  2. Remove from pan and cut in ½ (after cooled).
  3. Cook the rest of ingredients over medium heat except butter and vanilla. Boil 1 minute; take off of heat.
  4. Mix in butter and vanilla. Cover and let chill.
  5. Put filling between layers and the glaze on.
  6. Combine water and butter in saucepan; bring to a boil.
  7. Take off heat and stir cocoa in.
  8. Beat in powdered sugar and vanilla and pour over cake.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
