Easter dessert recipes are my favorite. They are so cute with the pastel colors. This ooey gooey homemade chex mix is just that! Cute and so yummy.

This homemade chex mix is amazing for around the holidays or for a delicious snack for around the house! My kids LOVE this recipe and everyone I make it for loves it too. You can add other ingredients to it to make it unique to what you and your family likes! We really love m&ms so I always add extra! If its around a certain holidy ou can make it different colors to make the theme. This one I made for the Spring time and it was perfect for our Easter party st the house! How to Make Homemade Chex Mix

Homemade Spring Chex Mix

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex Mix Cereal
  • 6 cups Golden Graham Cereal
  • 2 3/4 cups sweetened shredded coconut, dye with green food coloring before adding
  • 2 cups sliced almonds
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Chex Mix Cereal
  • 6 cups Golden Graham Cereal
  • 2 3/4 cups sweetened shredded coconut, dye with green food coloring before adding
  • 2 cups sliced almonds
  • 1 1/4 cups light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract

Toppings:

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup pastel m&m’s
  • Spring sprinkles (I found these at Walmart in the baking end cap)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix together chex mix, golden grahams,  green coconut, and almonds.

2. In a medium saucepan melt butter and stir in corn syrup and sugar.

3. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Then remove from heat and add the coconut extract.

4. Pour the mixture over the chex mix mixture and mix well.

5. Stir for a couple of minutes making sure that all the cereal is coated!

 

6. Add the toppings. Then enjoy.

  1. Are you supposed to bake it in the oven to dry it out a bit? My is all stuck together and I don’t see where you say to bake it. And your photos show the mix on baking sheets, which is misleading if
    it not supposed to be baked. Not sure what I did wrong. Bummer
