Do you love cinnamon rolls? This easy cinnamon bread tastes just like homemade cinnamon rolls but without all of the extra prep! The french bread with a yummy topping and glaze is the perfect alternative for a quick and easy breakfast before school. This recipe is kid approved and my whole family is obsessing over it! Although it is not necessarily the healthiest dish to serve, it is a fun treat to make every once in awhile for the kids! Try it out!

Cinnamon Roll French Bread

Easy Cinnamon Bread Recipe

Cook Time 25 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb) loaf french or Italian bread sliced in half
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paperSlice the bread in half and lay side by side on the parchment.
  2. In a bowl whisk together the softened butter, light brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until fully combined.
  3. Divide between the bread halves spreading from end to end.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes. The topping will be hot, so carefully cut into 1-inch slices.
  5. Whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Drizzle over the cinnamon roll french bread. Serve extra glaze on the side.
